Work closely with other students and a faculty member to discuss, plan, carry out, analyze, and present high quality research related to body image, aggression, or alcohol use. Sign up for PY 299, which is the introduction to collaborative lab. This is a 1 credit, Pass/No Credit course. Find the section that corresponds to your interests. Contact Dr. Beth Seebach at eseebach@smumn.edu if you are interested in body image or alcohol use research. Contact Dr. Dan Bucknam at dbucknam@smumn.edu if you are interested in research on aggression.
PY 299 Course Description: In this course, students will join a research team to explore an on-going research question. Each student will be involved in literature review, hypothesis generation, research design, data collection, data analysis, and interpretation. Students will join the team at whatever stage the project is at. Each student will experience all stages of the research process, but at times this will not be in the order described above.
Requirements
The only course requirement is that you have completed General Psychology. No previous research experience necessary. Research skills will be developed as part of this course. You do not have to be a psychology major to participate.
Aggression Lab (Section A)
Examining personality, emotional, and social factors that lead to electronic aggression (flame emails, hurtful texts, etc.). Contact Dr. Dan Bucknam at dbucknam@smumn.edu for more information.
