The Saint Mary’s fall Psychology Symposium (December 9th, 2010) also allowed students in collaborative labs and experimental psychology share their research and studies they have done this semester. Three collaborative groups created posters to report findings in the areas of alcohol, aggression, and body image. The experimental psychology class had three posters on display as well, presenting data on caffeine, alcohol, and happiness. Check out some pictures from the symposium below.










Thursday, December 9th 2010, was SMU’s fall Psychology Symposium. Here on campus, oral internship integration presentations were given by psychology students . They shared their experiences and what they have learned through their internships. Kristina Empanger presented on “Equine-Assisted Therapy and Mental Health.” Casey Twardowski titled his presentation “Concussion in Sports: Where are we? Where are we going?” Samantha Franklin followed, sharing about “Examining the Influences of the Family on Adolescent Substance Use.” In the second group of interns, Caiti Knudson reported on “Exploration of Factors Contributing to Recurring Crises Among Adolescents and Families” and Nicole Valenzuela shared about “The Influence of Dietary Modification and Parental Involvement on the Behavior of Children with Autism.” Acacia Gammage presented on “Dual Relationships” and Mackenzie Ferguson closed the presentations talking about “Creating Less Culturally Biased Tests for English Language Learners.” Congratulations to all those who presented, they did a wonderful job!
